2017 Season - Pre Season Guide

The 23rd year of the BUMS will officially start with the 2017 BUMS NFL Fantasy Draft which will take place at BUMS Headquarters from 7:30pm on Sunday September 3th preceded by a burger and hot dog banquet courtesy of Cheryl from 6pm. I hope as many of you as possible can make the draft in person. If not we will have the usual alternative ways of selecting your players. Attached is the player price spreadsheet including all of the player’s 2016 scores & how much a Franchise player will cost you if he is cut by his current owner. Remember if you cut your franchise player you’ll have to pay him his signed salary for the rest of the season/two seasons. David S and Marcus will work with a budget of $9.5m having cut their $0.5m 2016-17 franchise men. They are joined by Alex (who is starting his second season) in getting a supplemental draft pick at the end of round 5. Big names who are now available include receivers Emmanuel Sanders, Mike Evans, TY Hilton & Rob Gronkowski, as they have all ended their 2 year Franchise designation and become free agents. They are released onto the open market together with 34 rookies - see the rookie report attached and 6 new Head Coaches. The player pool is based on the depth charts listed by Ourlads.com last week. Draft Order and Franchise Players We pick in reverse points order from last year’s final tables so David S has the first pick in the draft and Craig has the final choice. The full draft order, budgets available & franchise players are also attached. In his annual re-naming David S unleashes the Karori Killer Kiwi Kats for 2017 while Craig (who has returned from Canada) has retired the Leamington Porcupines (as a one and done Championship franchise) but will remain a prickly opponent as the Porcupines becomes the Leamington Hedgehogs. Trading DaysYou will have the usual two opportunities to make changes. Trading Day 1 will be at HQ from 3pm on October 8th before week 5’s games and Trading Day 2 will be before week 11 on November 19th. Hope you can make it to BUMS HQ for each of these days to trade and watch the Sunday games that follow. Please put these in your diaries now. Season Kick-Off Game The first game of the season is the Chiefs @ the Patriots and is played overnight on Thursday September 7th. We’ll be getting together on the evening of Friday 8th to watch it.
